Coventry Residents could be hit with bills for thousands of pounds if they drive over pavements to park on their own property. Coventry City Council has signed off the creation of a ‘vehicle crossing officer’ who will police the city’s pavements and be responsible for taking enforcement action against people who drive across footpaths illegally. This means if you haven’t got a dropped kerb the council may take action against you. This could be in the form of a written warning or an enforced drop kerb fitment that will be charged to the house owner.
